Francophonie Day is marked on March 20th all over the world, celebrates all the French speakers in the world – over 300 million of them. French is one of the most influential and important languages in the world. It is one of the top three most useful languages for business after English and Mandarin, Chinese. It is the official language of 29 countries, and 65 countries in the world are enlisted under the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (International Organization of Francophonie) which means the countries where the customary language is French or where a large number of the population speaks French. Our teachers and students celebrated the French language and culture, on this Francophonie Day by dressing up in the colors of the French national flag or adding some recognizable Parisian chic to their outfits. Some NIS students built the Eiffel Tower using different materials like paper, straws, lego, and plastic bottles. All our students did an amazing job, and our teachers had a hard time choosing the best creation. Congratulations to the winners of ‘The Best Eiffel Tower’ competition!
