At Nibras International School, wherever possible, we use the culture, heritage and future of Dubai and the UAE as a starting point for our children’s learning, and with Dubai presenting Expo 2020 to the world, this will be even more relevant than ever.The school principal and several other staff have already been appointed as official Expo 2020 volunteers and will further promote learning based on Expo 2020 across the school. About Expo 2020 Dubai Expo 2020 will bring together countries and international organisations into one platform to share knowledge and to showcase technology that will promote collaboration in global education, creative innovation and social progress. Dubai Expo will take place from 20th October 2020 to 10th April 2021 at a specially constructed 438-hectare site near Al Maktoum International Airport in the Dubai South District.Expo 2020 Themes – OpportunityDubai Expo is built on the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, promoting cooperation among people from different fields and backgrounds to foster innovation and progress. This is underpinned by the sub-themes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, all of which offer a platform for educational and knowledge development. Our school will focus on the Expo 2020 theme of opportunity. Students will discover how to unlock opportunities and learn about new ideas that will inspire them to act.At the Expo in 2020, there will be four unique journeys designed to inspire students through fun, and transformative learning experiences and our children will get a chance to visit all the pavilions at this once-in-a-lifetime event. Expo 2020 Curriculum and ProjectsDubai Expo offers outstanding learning opportunities for students as part of the Expo School Programme in a range of fields. Through this journey, Nibras’ students will get a sneak peek into the future, through explorations of schools, cities, jobs data and resources of the future. They will discover and recognize the impact of individual actions on environments of our homes and communities, social wellbeing of people, economics of countries, and the world as a whole. This learning areas will unable Nibras’ students to reflect on their own choices and actions, and think about how they can become positive agents of change.Below are some themes and topics that we will explore in the class as part of this exciting event.
