Celebrating the Legacy

We hosted our annual “Legacy Dinner’ to thank our outstanding students for their amazing academic results and to also recognize those who have grown with our school.

This year, we also recognized some outstanding students in our Grade 5 and Grade 8 classes, who have already achieved academic excellence.

Their teachers, Ms. Tiffany, Ms. Sundas and Ms. Shannon shared a few inspiring words highlighting not just their academic achievements, but the resilience, dedication and TORCH Values they have shown.

This is our second  Legacy Dinner and it has been a way for us as a school, to come together as a community and celebrate our students. The students were not aware that we would be recognizing them at the dinner. Needless to say, when our principal, Dr. Jay B. Teston, and Head of Secondary School, Ms. Debra Willacey, revealed this news to students and their families at the beginning of this celebratory dinner, they were all surprised.

Our Valedictorian and Salutatorian were recognized for their amazing academic achievements. These are students with the highest marks in the graduating class. At the Legacy Dinner, we also recognized a student from the graduating class, who has been at NIS since kindergarten. Sheikha has truly grown with the school and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Senior Leadership Team members and the ISP Team Leaders congratulated them on this achievement and shared some words of wisdom.

“Continue to be a local leader with a global vision. I feel that we have done a good job in preparing you to be leaders of your community, leaders of your corporations in the future, leaders of your family bringing up children of your own, and also preparing you to be citizens of the world with worldwide vision contributing to humanity. ”
– Dr. Jay B. Teston, Principal

“Congratulations. I will borrow message form Dr. Seuss –  Today is your day, you are off to great places, you are off and away.”
– Abigail Fishbourne, Director of Learning, ISP Middle East

The students recognized have shown resilience, determination, and passion during the last few years. Alishba, Basmah, Sheikha, Hadi, Meera, Nicole and Lev have led their peers by example, worked hard, and accomplished amazing results. As they step into the next chapter of their life, we thank them for carrying the NIS Torch high and embodying our values so well.
