Celebrating 18 Years of Dedication: Long-Serving Teaching Assistant Reflects on the Nibras Journey

As Nibras International School Dubai celebrates its 20th anniversary, few people embody its spirit of community and care quite like long-serving Teaching Assistant, Judith Valedesco. For 18 years, Judith has been a familiar and reassuring presence in the classrooms and corridors of Nibras, shaping the early learning experiences of countless students.

Judith first joined the school in the Kindergarten team and spent nine years supporting young learners in KG2, before moving to Grade One. Some of her former students have since gone on to graduate from Nibras, with one even part of the Class of 2024. Seeing her students grow, achieve, and thrive remains one of her proudest joys.

Reflecting on her journey, Judith shared that Nibras has truly become her second home.

“I’ve watched children walk into my classroom for the first time and later walk across the stage at graduation,” she said. “Seeing how much they grow, and knowing I’ve been part of their journey, makes me so proud. The Nibras community has grown a lot, but the warmth and care have always stayed the same.”

Throughout her years at Nibras, Judith has witnessed seven Principals, four Heads of Elementary, and more than twenty teachers contribute to the school’s journey. She has seen Nibras grow from a close-knit team to a vibrant international community, with more students, more teachers, and even stronger family connections.

Her colleagues speak just as warmly of her impact. Dency Resabal, her Grade One Homeroom Teacher and colleague, shared that Judith’s kindness and dedication are at the heart of what makes Nibras special.

“Judith’s dedication and kindness inspire everyone she works with,” said Dency. “The students adore her because she gives them confidence and comfort in those early years. She’s been part of what makes Nibras feel like a family, and her commitment truly shows the heart of our school.”

Judith’s story is one of commitment, connection, and care. Her journey mirrors the school’s own evolution from its early years to the thriving, inclusive environment it is today.

As Nibras looks ahead to its next chapter, the school continues to build on the foundation laid by dedicated team members like Judith, nurturing generations of learners and strengthening the sense of belonging that defines the Nibras community.
